In accord with our Mission Statement, the South Kingstown Public Library (SKPL) endeavors to develop resources and services to meet the informational needs of our community. As such, SKPL offers Internet connectivity via library computers and wireless access to users of all ages, backgrounds and sensibilities.
All residents may register for an Ocean State Libraries library card free of charge. Current identification is required. A parent's or guardian's signature is required on the application of all children age 12 and under. Your library card is required at all times to check out or renew materials.
This policy describes patron privacy and confidentiality rights, the steps the library takes to respect and protect patron privacy when using library resources, and how the library deals with personally identifiable information that may be collected from library users.

In consideration for the well-being and safety of others and for your own enjoyment and safety, the South Kingstown Public Library Board of Trustees has adopted Rules of Conduct for Library Users. Library staff will enforce these rules.
The South Kingstown Public Library is a tax-supported public library serving the residents of South Kingstown. Complying with standards established by the Library of Rhode Island (LORI) and the American Library Association, the Library also provides service to other Rhode Island residents and visitors and to those residing outside of the state network.
In keeping with the Library’s mission to support our community’s educational needs, the Board of Trustees permits tutoring on the premises, in accordance with the guidelines spelled out in the Library's Tutor Policy.
The South Kingstown Public Library strives to maintain a safe and secure environment for its staff and patrons. In pursuit of this objective, selected public areas of the library premises at the Peace Dale and Kingston Free Libraries are under video surveillance and recording.
The South Kingstown Library is dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming environment that encourages all children to visit the Library, attend programs and use Library resources. Library staff is available to assist and support children and their caretakers in using the Library.
