The Town of South Kingstown obtained a recreation development grant from the Department of Environmental Management in 1990 to provide partial funding to purchase and develop West Kingston Park. The park was developed in 1993 - 1994 and includes two tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, large playground, basketball courts, comfort station, lit adult softball field, multi-purpose field, and parking.
